| The Bournemouth and
Poole Mela (cultural gathering) was a very successful event. Held on a
Summer Sunday when the weather was just right, the Mela provided
excitement; interest and entertainment for crowds of eager visitors
from a wide variety of different cultures. This was the first and may
there be many more.
Commenting
on the Mela in the Poole Advertiser (June 24 2010) Cllr. Phil
Stanley-Watts writes, "The people there were warm and friendly, and to
see the diverse richness of cultures and to watch the many talented
performers, to sample the wonderful food, made it a great family day
out".
